Brazil FPSO Shifts to Field Location

The P-63 platform-vessel, with the capacity to process 140,000 barrels of oil per day and to compress one million cu.m of gas per day, has been towed  from a temporary location in Ilha de Santana, in Macaé (RJ) to the Papa-Terra field in the post-salt Campos Basin.

The Papa-Terra field in the post-salt Campos Basin, is operated by Petrobras (62.5%) in partnership with Chevron (37.5%).

The P-63, which is scheduled to start production on October 23, is among the new units coming on stream in 2013, contributing to an increase in the Company's oil production as well as reaching production targets forecast in the 2013-2017 Business and Management Plan.

This vessel was converted into an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) from the tanker BW Nisa at the Cosco Shipyard in China, with the latter stages of construction carried out at the QUIP/Honorio Bicalho construction site in Rio Grande (RS). The services were carried out by the Quip consortium (Queiroz Galvão, UTC, Iesa and Camargo Correa) and BW Offshore and employed about 1,500 workers at peak construction.
